The body of a man from Tamil Nadu’s Thiruvallur, who met with a fatal accident near his house, was found 420 kilometres away in Andhra Pradesh. Sudhakar, who was riding a bike was hit by a car at Pandur in Thiruvallur district near Chennai on Wednesday and the biker’s body was found in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.

According to news reports, the accident happened on Wednesday night when Sudhakar, was returning home after his work in Kakkalur SIPCOT. As he was nearing his house, a speeding car rammed into his bike near Pandur, severing Sudhakar’s leg and throwing him off the bike. While the driver of the car fled the scene after hitting the bike, the impact of the crash threw Sudhakar’s body onto the cargo hold of a truck that was passing by. The driver, unaware of the accident, continued to drive on with the body.

In Pandur, the police soon arrived at the spot and saw blood stains and a damaged bike and found Sudhakar’s severed leg a few metres away from the accident spot. They identified the name of the victim with the help of the documents that were in the bike but could not find his body anywhere. Sudhakar’s family, after being informed by the police about the accident, conducted a road roko for a short while demanding the police to recover his body soon.

The mystery was solved on Thursday when the Tamil Nadu police got a call from the Andhra Pradesh police regarding a body found in a truck with its right leg missing. The truck driver, after pulling into a godown in Kurnool, had discovered the body and alerted the Andhra police. The police then retraced the route taken by the truck and called up the Tamil Nadu police informing them of the body and sent them Sudhakar’s photos. The Tamil Nadu police then connected the two incidents and informed Sudhakar’s family members who identified him from the pictures.

Meanwhile, the police has detained the driver of the car and are questioning him, as per reports
