Akhil Akkineni’s next film may be directed by Boyapati Srinivas, say sources in the know. The star is busy playing the lead role in Mr. Majnu for which director Venky Atluri is wielding the megaphone. This film is on the verge of completion and Akhil is gearing up to move over to his next project. While there were various speculations about the director, it looks like Boyapati may be helming the film.

Boyapati is currently busy directing the Ram Charan Teja starrer Vinaya Vidheya Rama. The shooting of this film is almost over and is gearing up for release for Sankaranthi next year. Vinaya Vidheya Rama is bankrolled by DVV Dhanayya under his banner Dhanayya Entertainments. The film’s technical crew includes Devi Sri Prasad for music. While Kiara Advani of Bharat Ane Nenu fame plays Ram Charan’s lead pair, the cast also has Ramya Krishnan, Sneha, Vivek Oberoi and Prashanth playing pivotal roles.

On the other hand, Akhil’s Mr. Majnu is fast progressing. The first look and title of this film was revealed along with a short teaser which is going viral online. The teaser also had an interesting song that goes like Devadasu Manavado, Manmadhudiki Varasudo… And the lyrics are derived from hit movies that featured his grandfather A Nageswara Rao and father Nagarjuna.

Mr. Majnu is being bankrolled by BVSN Prasad under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. Nidhi Agarwal has been signed up to play Akhil’s love interest in the film. S Thaman is on board this project to compose the tunes. The technical crew of this Akhil Akkineni starrer also includes George C Williams for cinematography and Navin Nooli for editing.

A clear picture on Boyapati’s film with Akhil will emerge only after completion of their respective projects, say sources.
