The News Minute | February 2, 2015 | 09.10 am ISTA six year old who fell into a 10 foot pit at a butcher shop was rescued after over an hour on Sunday in Chennai. The boy, R Kishore had come to buy chicken with his father when he fell into the 10 foot deep pit which was used to illegally dump butchered waste, reported The Hindu. Rescued after an operation by firemen that lasted an hour, the boy was admitted to a private hospital. The owner of the chicken stall had not replaced the tile over the pit hole. The fire  department personnel then had to open the flooring to get the child out, reported The New Indian Express. Illegally maintained, the opening provided a direct connection to the Metro Water sewer pipe line. The owner of the RK Thevar Chicken stall,Vasanthakumar has been booked for negligence along with three other workers, said the report. TweetFollow @thenewsminute
