A few days ago, there were reports that Ravi Teja has decided to shelve the Bogan remake and move over to a fresh project that will be helmed by Jai Lava Kusa director Bobby.

Confirming the news, Bogan’s director Lakshman said that he and his team are very upset with Ravi Teja walking out of the remake at the last minute. He is reported to have said that the star simply did not want to do a remake at this stage, because his last film Raja The Great turned out to be a blockbuster.

Lamenting that he had been working on the Bogan remake for more than six months now, Lakshman said that he has not made up his mind on what to do next.

He had said that the script of the original version was changed to suit Ravi Teja’s image and he is now contemplating on either roping in a new star to replace him or work on a fresh script to make a Tamil film.

Talking to a leading entertainment portal Silverscreen, Lakshman said: “I had to rework the script for the Telugu audience. Also, Ravi Teja had done a certain type of films, and to suit his style I tweaked my script. Now, when he says he cannot do the film, it is very upsetting. I need time to think about what to do next – to go with another actor or start working on a Tamil film”.

Bogan, starring Jayam Ravi and Aravind Swamy was one of the biggest hits in Kollywood which prompted Ravi Teja to opt for its remake.

While he was waiting for a break after a string of flops, his latest release Raja The great turned out to be a hit following which he has decided to work on an original script, say sources.

Ram Talluri, who produced the Bogan remake, will now be bankrolling the Ravi Teja – Bobby project.

Lakshman had signed up SJ Suryah to reprise Aravind’s role in the Telugu remake, it may be noted here.

Meanwhile, Ravi Teja is busy with Touch Chesi Choodu which is directed by Vikram Sirikonda. The film is gearing up for a Sankranti release next year.
