A cab driver appointed by a tech-company in Bengaluru expressed his desire to have sex with a twenty-four-year-old employee of the company on Monday.

He even asked her to call him when she is alone at home.

For over 2-hours during her 30 km journey from Chandra Layout residence to her workplace at Bagmane Constellation Business Park in Mahadevapura, Maya (name changed), an employee of Amazon Development Center India, claimed that the driver made some obscene statements and even shamelessly expressed his desire to have intercourse with her, reported Bangalore Mirror.

The company immediately sacked the driver. She filed a complaint with the South East division police station, who have reportedly arrested the driver, Santhosh Somegowda.

“His questions delved into personal areas of my life, such as `Do I love anyone', `Do I have boys or girls as friends', etc. I showed my disinterest by not responding and engaging myself with my phone,” the victim said in her statement.

A few kilometers away from the office, the accused reportedly asked the victim, what she would do if a guy forced himself on her. Even after she said she carried a pepper spray to use in such cases, Santhosh professed his ‘interest’to have sex and even promised to use protection, reported BM.

“The driver continued to say he was not looking to get married, but his intent was plainly to have some fun with me. He also suggested that we become friends and said I should call him home when I was alone,” she said.

Afraid that the something untoward might happen if she raised an alarm, Maya kept calm and did not answer his questions. She informed the company’s transport wing as soon as she reached her office.

“Just as I was getting down, the driver asked me to say `I love you' to him, but I ignored him and ran into the building,”Maya said.

Deputy commissioner of police (South East) Dr M B Boralingaiah, confirmed the driver's arrest.
