Namma Metro services between MG Road and Indiranagar on the Purple Line in Bengaluru resumed from 9.35 am on Tuesday. With this, both lines are fully operational. This comes after it was earlier announced that services between the two stations would resume on Monday morning.
“The train services between MG road and Indranagar is restored today from 9.35 Hrs. With this the purple line will have full service from Baiyappanahalli to Mysore road and Vice Versa,” metro officials said.

Metro services between MG Road and Indiranagar was stopped on December 28 for repair works that were being carried out, after pillar number 112 near Trinity Station developed cracks. On December 9, a Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) team, found a honeycomb formation in concrete while inspecting the metro tracks. The officials found that the slider (ramp on which tracks are laid) was also dislocated.
On the morning of December 12, services were delayed for an hour as BMRCL set up iron beams to support the pillar.
Repair work began and was being carried out after 11 pm, but metro officials informed that the metro would have to be shut on the particular route for a few days to complete the works
BMRCL had earlier stated that the metro services would stop on December 22 and 23. However, the dates were pushed further, and metro services were halted from 8 pm on December 28. Services were supposed to resume on December 30, but this was later pushed. In order to aid passengers, free feeder buses were pressed into service between Cubbon Park metro station and Baiyappanahalli metro station.
In the locations it was functional, the metro plied till 1.30 am on Tuesday, and the feeder buses were available for an extended period from 11 pm to 2 am.
