A Bengaluru man allegedly killed his grandmother after she accidentally broke his phone on Monday in Kadirenahalli area in Banashankari police station limits.

According to The Times of India report, police arrested 22-year-old Shivaraju, a painter for murder of his 90-year-old grandmother Lakshmamma.

The newspapers reported that on Monday evening, Shivaraju, who is a painter, had returned from work and had kept his phone on charge on the window sill.

Lakshmamma, who was walking in the house, came in contact with the wire of the mobile charger and the mobile fell down damaging the screen.

Angered by this, Shivaraju assaulted his grandmother with a plank of wood and that injured her head and neck. Since there was no external bleeding, the family members did not take her to the hospital and instead applied ointment.

The next morning when they realized she was unresponsive, the family members took her to a nearby private hospital where she was declared brought dead.
