Pratyusha Banerjee who played Anandi in the teleserial Balika Vadhu was found dead in Mumbai on Friday.
The 24-year-old actor was declared dead at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai after she was found hanging in her apartment in Mumbai. No suicide note has been recovered yet.
Some reports says she was rushed to the hospital by Rahul Singh, her boyfriend. The actor's family is based out of Jamshedpur.
Pratyusha debuted in the serial Balika Vadhu on Colors TV as the adult Anandi, a much loved character and became a household name in a shortspan of time. She played the role with poise. She also played a negative character in Sasural Simran Ka.
She later became popular as a contestant on Bigg Boss and worked in other reality shows such as Jhalak Dikhhlajaa 5.
