The first look of the Bhojpuri film Veer Yodha Mahabali was released recently and it cannot be denied that it closely resembles the mega hit movie Baahubali. Even the title sounds similar making movie buffs wonder if it is indeed a remake!

However, with no clarification on this from the makers of Veer Yodha Mahabali, we need to wait and watch to find out if it is a remake. One of the top stars in the Bhojpuri film industry, Dinesh Lal Yadav, plays the lead role in this film. While the poster of the film looks similar to that of Baahubali, ardent film buffs did not fail to notice that the armour Dinesh Lal Yadav is wearing seems to be an exact replica of that worn by Prabhas in Baahubali.

Reports say that the makers of Veer Yodha Mahabali are planning to release it in various other Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Bengali. Directed by Iqbal Baksh and produced by M Ramesh Vyas, the film also has Amrapali Dubey in a pivotal role.

It may be mentioned here that Baahubali, directed by SS Rajamouli, was one of the biggest hits in the history of Indian cinema. Apart from Prabhas, who played the title role, the film had a bevy of stars in the cast, including Anushka Shetty, Tammannah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sudeep, Nasser, Rana Daggubati and others. Released in two parts – Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion – the films were made on a humongous budget amounting to Rs 450 crore.

With Baahubali being released in several Indian and international languages, it needs to be seen how Veer Yodha Mahabali would fare at the box office, especially when the makers plan to release it in various languages.
