Among the various happenings at Apple’s Developers’ conference in San Jose, California, there was something for the Indian buyers of Apple devices. The company revealed the latest prices for their range of products for the Indian customers.
The list of products for which the prices have been announced includes the newly launched 10.5inch iPad Pro models, apart from the MacBook range and the iMac.
The iPad Pro (10.5inch) with 64GB memory and Wi-Fi will cost Rs.52,900, for the device that has 256GB storage, the price will be Rs.60,900 and that for the 512GB capacity will be Rs.76,900.
If one wishes to buy the Wi-Fi + SIM or cellular enabled iPad Pros, then an additional Rs.11,000 has to be added to the above prices in each range. So, the prices for these iPads will be Rs.63,900, Rs 71,900 and Rs 87,900 respectively for the 64GB, 256GB and 512GB variants.
When it comes to the larger 12.9inch iPad Pro devices, Apple has retained the old prices for the entry level iPads, but it has enhanced the storage memory to double the figure available earlier. Accordingly, one can pick up the 12.9inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi only feature at Rs. 65,900 and Rs.73, 900 for the 64GB and 256GB variants respectively. Like in the case of the 10.5inch iPads, here also the cellular arrangement will push these prices up by another Rs.11,000 across the board. Prices of some higher end models appear to have been slightly increased. Thus, the price for the 512GB iPad Pro of 12.9inch size in the Wi-Fi category will be Rs. 89,900.
In the case of the MacBook Air, the company has retained the earlier prices at which these were sold in India. However, the CPU’s clock speed has been given a marginal increase from 1.6GHz to 1.8GHz, with the same Core i5 Broadwell chip. The prices are Rs.80,900 (128GB) and Rs.96, 900 (256GB).
The non-Retina type iMac 21.5inch model will now be sold in India @Rs.90,900 less by Rs.1,000. In the case of the Retina iMac of the same size, there has been a considerable drop from Rs.1,23,900 to Rs.1,07,900. It is significant to note that Apple has actually made some improvements in the display and internal features on these devices.
On the other hand, the price of the Retina-type iMac at the lower end has not been changed but the two higher level models have been priced higher by a marginal Rs.1000 each. The iMacs in the Retina type will now be available at price points of Rs.1,48,900, Rs.1,65,900 and Rs. 1,89,900 respectively. It must be added that almost all these devices have received substantial upgrades in terms of hardware and functional features.
