Nayanthara’s Imaikka Nodigal is one of the most exciting upcoming multi-starrer Tamil projects is all set to hit the marque on August 30 and it’s the first time in her career Nayanthara will be having two releases in a single month.

Popular filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who makes his Tamil acting debut through Imaikkaa Nodigal, has revealed that he wants to direct both Dhanush and Vijay Sethupathi together. As part of the promotions of Imaikkaa Nodigal, in which he plays a psychotic serial killer, Anurag was asked who he'd like to direct from the south and he immediately said Dhanush and Vijay Sethupathi. It's worth mentioning that Anurag has, in several of his interviews over the years, revealed that he's a huge fan of Dhanush's Aadukalam.

Meanwhile, he's thrilled about his role in Imaikkaa Nodigal, in which he locks horns with Nayanthara. Talking about his role, Kashyap said in a media statement: “What pulled me towards acting in Imaikaa Nodigal is the role. Rudra is not your typical baddie. He doesn't just smoke, drink, order his men around and indulge in item numbers. He is menacing, scary, smart and cunning. This strange mixture that forms the role is what tempted me to take it up although I was tied up with my own projects back in Mumbai. When the audiences watch the movie in theatre, if I'm able to evoke the tiniest of fears in them, as Rudra, I'll consider my work done."

Anurag was last seen in a full-length role in AR Murugadoss's Akira, where he was seen locking horns with Sonakshi Sinha.

Anurag also revealed that he'd like to take up more acting assignments and that language is not a concern. His role in Imaikkaa Nodigal, which also stars Atharvaa, Raashi Khanna and Vijay Sethupathi was originally written for Gautham Vasudev Menon, according to director Ajay Gnanamuthu. Since Gautham couldn't accept the offer due to his busy filmmaking career, Anurag was approached and he immediately jumped at the opportunity.

The film also has Atharvaa, Raashi Khanna and Vijay Sethupathi in an extended cameo. It has been learnt that he will be seen playing a 15-minute extended cameo in the film.
