Chiyaan Vikram will next team up with young director Ajay Gnanamuthu. On Monday Ajay made the announcement on his Twitter handle and also shared the poster of the film. The poster features what appears to be Vikram in multiple avatars he will be seen in the film.

Ajay Gnanamuthu had worked with the ace director AR Murugadoss as his assistant in films like 7aum Arivu and Thuppakki before his debut as director. He is known for his films like Imaikkaa Nodigal and DeMonte Colony.

Touted to be a high on octane action thriller, there were reports that Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap who made his acting debut in Tamil with Ajay Gnanmuthu’s Immaikkaa Nodigal will be playing an important role in Vikram's film as well.

Refuting the rumors, Director Ajay told in.com "The news is not true at all. Anurag has not been cast as the villain in our film. Announcements on the rest of the cast will be made soon.” 

Currently dubbed as Chiyaan Vikram 54, the project will go on the floors from August 2019 and the makers plan to release it in April 2020. “This film will be a Pan-Indian project catering to the Tamil, Hindi and Telugu audience. It will be produced on a massive scale in association with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. The cast and technicians will have big names of all industries collaborating for this film,” read a statement from the makers.   

Bankrolled by Lalit Kumar under Seven Screen Studio jointly with Viacom 18 Studios.

Actor Vikram, who currently awaits the release of Kamal Haasan produced Kadaram Kondan, also has long pending project Dhruva Natchathiram and Mahavir Karna. In Mahavir Karna, he plays the title role in the film and is preparing himself to get into the skin of the character he is to play. 

Mahavir Karna is a high budget movie that will be bankrolled by United Film Kingdom on a budget of Rs 300 crores. This high budget movie will be directed by RS Vimal.
