Reports are that the groundwork for Vijay’s 64th film is currently on at a good pace. There is a buzz that Malayalam actor Anthony Varghese may be signed up to play the villain in it, reports Times of India. However, there is no official confirmation on this yet.

Last seen playing Jacob Varghese in Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil, which came out last year, Anthony has a slew of films in his kitty. He has Aanapparambile World Cup and Lijo Jose Pellissery’s much-awaited Jellikkettu. Anthony Varghese shot to limelight with his debut movie Angamaly Diaries in which he played Vincent Pepe. The film, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, was one of the biggest hits in the Malayalam film industry.

If Anthony Varghese manages to get on board the Tamil movie, then it would mark his debut in Kollywood. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has earlier made the film Maanagaram and has another film Kaithi releasing later this year. The director is also busy assembling his star cast and crew for Vijay 64. A few weeks ago, reports surfaced that Anirudh Ravichander will be roped in to compose tunes for this flick.

Lokesh’s upcoming film Kaithi has Karthi in the lead role with Narain playing an important character. Sam CS Sam is composing the tunes for Kaithi with Sathyan Sooryan cranking the camera and Philomin Raj editing it. SR Prakashbabu and SR Prabhu are bankrolling the film under the banner Dream Warriro Pictures.

In the meantime, Vijay will be wrapping up Bigil. The film, directed by Atlee Kumar, has Nayanthara playing the female lead. It is bankrolled by AGS Entertainments. There are reports doing rounds that it is a sports drama which will have Vijay playing a football coach and the film is gearing up for Diwali 2019 release.
