A TDP MLC from Andhra, and two others were arrested by the Hyderabad police on Tuesday, for allegedly forging documents of government lands.

The arrested were identified as TDP Anantapur MLC Deepak Reddy, advocate Sailesh Saxena and realtor Srinivas.

The New Indian Express reported that the trio created forged documents of government lands in Banjara Hills, Asif Nagar, Abids and a few others places in the city, before the advocate moved court, and claimed that the land belonged to private individuals, and not the government.

The TNIE report adds that the incident came to light after a case was registered by the Shaikpet Tahsildar, when he suspected something fishy in the registration of the lands in question.

“Sailesh created fake ownership documents in the name of a fictitious persons called Iqbal Islam Khan with the help of documents supplied by Srinivas. Later, Sailesh played a key role in transferring the land from Iqbal to Deepak. During our investigation, we found that there was nobody by the name of Iqbal Khan at the address mentioned in the documents. Neither Sailesh nor Deepak could tell us about the credentials of Iqbal,'' Deputy Commissioner of Police (CCS) Avinash Mohanty told the Times of India

India Today reported that Deepak Reddy was the son-in-law of Telugu Desam MP and businessman JC Diwakar Reddy.

Diwakar Reddy is widely known in Telangana and Andhra, for owning Diwakar Travels, along with his brother TDP MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy.

The travel company was in the news recently, after a bus accident in Andhra's Krishna district in March, killed 11 people.

The bus fell into a culvert on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway in the early hours of the morning.

It was reported at the time, that injured passengers were stuck for over four hours in the bus and the rescue teams faced difficulty while removing the bodies out of the bus as they were crushed between seats.
