Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan may soon be making his second appearance in Sandalwood, if reports doing the rounds are to be believed. According to the buzz, Amitabh is a strong contender to play a crucial role in director Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar’s upcoming film starring Shivaraj Kumar.

The upcoming film will reportedly deal with various important issues such as demonetisation and the director is looking to cast someone well known across India. The project will be financed by Kaddipuddi Chandru.

Interestingly, Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar had worked with Amitabh in Amrithadhare earlier and shares a good rapport with him. Written by popular actor and filmmaker Ramesh Aravind, Amrithadhare was directed and produced by Nagathihalli Chandrasekar.

Dhyan and Ramya had played the lead pair in the film, with Amitabh making a guest appearance as himself. The 2005 release was the only Kannada film in which Amitabh appeared.

Amitabh’s last release was Sarkar 3, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, which released worldwide on May 12. The star is also busy with 102 Not Out, which is being directed by Umesh Shukla. In this film, Amitabh is sharing screen space with another veteran Rishi Kapoor. The star also has Thugs of Hindostan, directed by Vijay Krisha Acharya, also lined up. With Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Jacike Shroff in the cast, the film is slated for release next year.

With so many projects lined up, it needs to be seen if the Bollywood star will sign on for the Kannada project.
