Popular actor couple in Sandalwood Ambareesh and Sumalatha’s son Abhishek Gowda is all set to follow in the footsteps of his parents. Bitten by the acting bug, the youngster expressed his desire to don the greasepaint and there were enough speculations on who would produce and direct the venture. The suspense has come to an end with ace producer Sandesh Nagaraj revealing that Abhishek would be launched by his home banner and his son Sandesh N would be bankrolling the venture.

The producer’s Sandesh Combines has produced 31 films so far, out of which several have been blockbuster hits. And Abhishek’s film would be the second film from Sandesh Productions, which belongs to the same group.

On the director who would be wielding the megaphone for Abhishek’s debut film, we hear from the producer that two directors – Chethan Kumar and Pavan Wadeyar – are under consideration. Both the directors have come up with impressive scripts and one of them will be finalised depending on the other factors.

While the production house is gearing up to provide a perfect launch for Abhishek, the wannabe actor is preparing himself for it. He has been undergoing training sessions in acting apart from dance and martial arts to get ready by the time he has to face the camera.

Sumalatha and Ambareesh married on December 8, 1991, after a long courtship. They had shared the screen space in several films including Aahuti, Avatara Purusha, Sri Manjunatha and Kallarali Hoovagi.

Ambareesh is currently busy with Ambi Ning Vayasaitho, which is the Kannada remake of the Tamil hit movie Pa Paandi, which had Raj Kiran in the title role and was produced by Dhanush under his banner Wunderbar films.

Ambareesh is a politician as well. He was the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting from 2006 to 2007 and was a Member of Parliament from the Mandya Constituency from 1998 to 2009.
