It was widely reported that Amala Paul, who plays the leading lady in Dhanush’s gangster drama 'Vada Chennai', will be seen in the role of a fisher-woman.

However, the film’s director Vetrimaaran has denied the news and has revealed to Deccan Chronicle in a chat that she will be seen as glamorous to the extent her character demands in the film.

Having already completed the first schedule of 30 days, Vetrimaaran revealed he’s busy editing the initial portion.

Tipped to be about 40 years in the life of gangster from North Madras, the film also stars Andrea Jeremiah, apart from a few more actresses.

The director revealed that most of the heroines will be seen in smaller roles.

The project also stars Vijay Sethupathi in a cameo and Daniel Balaji as one of the antagonists.

The first part of the film is slated to hit the screens next year.
