Akhil Akkineni’s debut as a hero with Akhil turned out to be a dud at the box office and the young actor took a short break before actually signing up for his next film. He is now busy with the Vikram Kumar directorial Hello.
Produced by the hero’s dad and actor-producer Nagarjuna Akkineni under the banner Annapurna Studios, the film is gearing for release on December 22 to cash in on the Christmas weekend. With just a couple of months away for its release, talks about its pre-release business has come up.
Reports suggest that the makers of Hello have quoted Rs. 15 crore for Nizam area, Rs. 15 crore for the Andhra region, Rs. 5 crore in ceded and Rs. 5 crore in the overseas market.
However, it looks like the overseas distributors are in no mood to shell out the amount demanded by the producers. Trade analysts say that with Mahesh Babu’s Spyder not fetching the desired collections at the box office, the distributors abroad are quoting a lesser price for Hello. The negotiations are currently on and the deals are expected to be struck soon.
Hello, written and directed by Vikram Kumar, has Akhil Akkineni and Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the lead pair. In fact, it would be Kalyani’s debut film. Anup Rubens has composed the tunes for this flick with PS Vinod cranking the camera.
It may be mentioned here that this project was touted to go on the floors last year but the producer had suggested a lot of changes following it was postponed to this year. With Akhil banking on Hello to carve a niche for himself in the film industry, movie buffs are sure that Vikram Kumar would come up with a complete entertainer.
