The shoot of Shankar’s Indian 2, which marks his reunion with Kamal Hassan after two decades, is currently on floors in Chennai. Having released the first poster of the film on the occasion of Pongal; the makers are now geared up to complete shooting the project as planned in next six months.

The first poster featured Kamal displaying his ‘varma-kalai’ skill as the octogenarian vigilante Senapathy from Indian. The poster, which was released sans any hullabaloo, was received very well and was trending on social media in no time.

The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal as in the lead but other than that the makers are yet to reveal the complete cast list. Not long ago, it was reported that Ajay Devgn has been approached to play the antagonist and that he’d assured Shankar that he will shoot after wrapping up his upcoming film Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior.

Recently, reports emerged that Devgn declined the offer as he was not too keen on working in the south. Reacting to these news reports, Devgn has made a clarification while promoting his upcoming release Total Dhamaal. He said that he had never declined Shankar’s offer in the first place.

Devgn said that he missed doing the project because Shankar wanted him to start shooting immediately. He couldn’t afford to take time as he was occupied with Taanaji, and that he can’t take up new commitments as he has no time to allocate to them.

Now, there are rumours doing the rounds that Abhishek Bachchan has been signed to play the negative role in the film, which will be simultaneously released in Hindi.  The film, being produced by Lyca Productions, has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
