The good news for Akhil Akkineni fans is that the shooting for his upcoming film, Mr Majnu, is almost at an end. Confirming this through his social networking handle, the actor said that he is currently shooting for a sangeet song for the film which will go on for the next four days. Posting a picture on Instagram, he wrote: “Good morning from the Akkineni’s !! A good start to the day. Big day today ... starting the sangeet song, lots of celebration and dancing next 4 days. Have a great day you guys.” It may be noted here that three songs from the album, the title track, ‘Yemaindho’ and ‘Naalo Neeko’ have been released so far.

Mr Majnu, touted to be a romantic drama, is directed by Venky Atluri and bankrolled by BVSN Prasad under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. Nidhhi Agerwal has been signed up to play the lead opposite Akhil. The technical crew of this film includes S Thaman for music, George C Williams for cinematography and Navin Nooli for editing.

It has been confirmed that Mr Majnu will hit the marquee on January 25. Well, that seems to be a good move by the filmmakers as they will be cashing in on the Republic Day weekend. Confirming the film’s release date, Mr Majnu’s producer BVSN Prasad had said, as quoted by the Indian Express, earlier, “As a Republic Day gift, Mr Majnu will hit the screens worldwide on January 25.”

Akhil Akkineni also announced the date and posted on Twitter, “You asked for a January release and I couldn’t say no. My first January release, can’t wait to kick start the new year with a bang! Love to you all.”

The director Venky Atluri also tweeted, “Can’t wait to introduce you to our Mr Majnu on Jan 25th, 2019.”
