Vijay Sethupathi is one of the most versatile actors never wanting to let go of impressive scripts. He is all set to make his debut in the Telugu film industry with the mega star Chiranjeevi starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and according to latest reports, Vijay has signed up his second Tollywood film. Titled Uppena, it will mark the acting debut of Panja Vaisshnav Tej.
In this film, Vijay will be seen as the heroine’s father. Krithi Shetty is playing the female lead in this romantic entertainer that is set in a fishing hamlet. Directed by debutant Buchu Babu Sana, the film will go on floors later this month. Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in to compose music for this venture. Mythri Movie Makers are producing this film.
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi and his fans are waiting eagerly for the release of the historical Sye Raa. This film is undoubtedly one of the biggest projects in Tollywood with a huge star cast. Starring mega star Chiranjeevi in the titlular role, it is a biopic on the legendary freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
Sye Raa is being bankrolled by Ram Charan Teja under his home banner Konidela Production Company on a budget of Rs 200 crore and directed by Surendar Reddy. It has a bevy of stars from different film industries including Amitabh Bachchan who will be seen making a guest appearance as Gosayi Venkanna. Apparently, he plays Uyyalalwada Narasimha’s mentor in the film. The others in the star cast are Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Jagapathi Babu, Kiccha Sudeep, Pragya Jaiswal and Brahmaji. R. Rathnavelu is the cameraman for this film, with A Sreekar Prasad editing it and Amit Trivedi wielding the music baton. It is a trilingual that will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
It may be noted here that Vijay Sethupathi is making his debut in the Malayalam film industry this year with Marconi Mathai. He plays himself in this entertainer that has the veteran actor Jayaram in the lead role.
