Looks like the RX 100 fame director Ajay Bhupathi and Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ film together has been dropped. It may be noted here that Ajay had roped in Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Samantha for this film. While there is no news about this film, the latest is that the director will be teaming up with Naga Chaitanya next.
There are reports that Ajay Bhupathi had narrated the story for his next to both Naga Chaitanya and his wife Samantha Akkineni but there is still no clarity if the two would be sharing the screen space in the film. The film, which has not been titled yet, will be bankrolled by Gemini Khan. The shooting of this film is touted to begin this summer but the exact date has not been fixed as of now. Also, there is no clarity if the director had replaced Bellamkonda Sreenivas with Naga Chaitanya or if it is an entirely different script.
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s last release was Majili which did well at the theatres. It is a romantic drama that was directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Sahu Garapati, Harish Peddi, Sushil Choudhary under the banner of Shine Screens Production Rad Film production.
Besides Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni, the film had Divyansha Kaushik in lead role. While Gopi Sunder had composed music for the songs in the film, it was S Thaman who did the background score. Vishnu Sharma had cranked the camera for Majili with Praveen Pudi editing it. The film premiered in the US on April 4 with its release in India the next day.
Releasing to positive reviews, Majili managed to collect Rs 54 crore at the box office. The movie finished a run of ten days and it made an amount of Rs 24.98 crore in both the Telugu states. In the USA alone, the film collected Rs 2.24 crore. Worldwide, the film collected more than Rs 30 crore.
