Ahead of the release of Power Paandi on Friday, actor-filmmaker Dhanush on Tuesday rejoined the sets of Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai. The first schedule of the film was shot in a specially erected prison set last November and since then Dhanush had been busy with other projects.

Sharing the news on his Twitter page, Dhanush wrote: “With two days to go for ‘Power Paandi’ release, resuming ‘Vada Chennai’ shoot from today. Blazing sun, sea, great people and typical Vetrimaaran locations.”

The story will track 30 years in the life of a gangster, played by Dhanush, who has already set aside over 200 days for this epic project. Tipped to be the most ambitious project in the career of Vetrimaaran, most popular for helming Aadukalam and Visaaranai, the film will mark the filmmaker's third time collaboration with Dhanush after Pollathavan. The film will be shot in the most realistic manner featuring raw and hard-hitting action and rather than just focusing on the lifestyle of a gangster, it will also focus on the emotional side.

Also starring Amala Paul and Daniel Balaji, the film is being produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Lyca Productions.
