One of the most loved onscreen hit-pairs in Mollywood, Dileep and Kavya Madhavan will now be seen in none other than acclaimed film director Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s next movie ‘Pinneyum’ scheduled to be shot in Thiruvananthapuram from May 11 onwards.

The other actors in the movie are renowned Maharashtrian actor Subodh Bhave who has carved a name for himself in theatre, television as well as cinema, KPAC Lalitha, Nedumudy Venu, Indrans, Vijayraghavan, Ravi Vallathol, Sudheer Karamana, Srinda, P Sreekumar among others.

MJ Radhakrishnan is the cinematographer of the movie, while editing will be the handiwork of B Ajithkumar.

The national award winning 74- year old veteran is all set to direct a full-length feature film after a gap of eight long years and the first one after his wife Sunanda’s demise in September 2015.

Announcing his new project at a press conference in Kochi on Wednesday, Adoor chose to describe his next directorial venture as an intense love story, major portions of which will be shot at picturesque locations at Sasthamkotta in Kollam.

His last movie was ‘Oru Pennum Randaanum’ (A Climate for Crime) had bagged him the state award for best director in 2008. Adoor said that since he was venturing to make a movie after a long gap, it feels as if it is his debut one as he has forgotten the very process of film making.

This would be the first time Dileep would be acting in an Adoor film and the actor considers himself extremely lucky to have landed the lead role, as it was one of his long cherished dreams.

Kaya who had earlier played one of the leads in Adoor’s ‘Naalu Penungal’ in 2007 cherishes her experience as a different one compared to her usual commercial potboilers.
