Actor Vishal is disappointed that "Sandaikozhi 2", sequel to the 2005 hit Tamil action film "Sandakozhi", has been cancelled.

The actor took to Twitter on Thursday to say,

"sad 2 c certain filmmakers lackin commitmnt twds projects. guess actors shd stick 2 actin n Dir s 2 directing. sandaikozhi 2 cancelled. GB"

"Sandakozhi", considered one of the biggest hits in Vishal's career, was directed by N Lingusamy and produced by Vikram Krishna. The film's cast included Vishal, Meera Jasmine, Rajkiran and Lal in the lead roles.

The sequel was to be produced under the actor's home banner Vishal Film Factory and to be directed by Lingusamy.

Speaking to DNA, Vishal said, "I signed on Lingusamy in November 2014 for the project. They kept pushing the date as the script was not finalised. It was supposed to go on the floors on 15 February but he had still not locked the final draft of the script. Then I was informed that he was opting out of the project. I got to know through sources that he had signed on another film. I don't want to get into details, but this is extremely unethical of him to pull out at the last minute. I have filed a complaint with the Producers Council and have asked that my money and expenditure since November 2014 be returned."
