Actor Kavya Madhavan, who is married to Dileep, has applied for anticipatory bail to the Kerala High Court.
Kavya has reportedly approached the court because the team investigating the Malayalam actor abduction and assault case has plans of arresting her. The police is believed to be at the last stages of the investigation.
Kavya, who was earlier questioned by the police, has said in her bail plea that they are trying to "trap" her. The actor has alleged that the police is trying to fabricate her connection to the case and that they are trying to bring in false evidence that accused Pulsar Suni was her driver. She has further said that the police's move is purely based on Pulsar Suni's statement and that the investigation team had fabricated many stories and had called several times over phone.
Dileep is currently in judicial custody after his bail plea was rejected by the court thrice. The actor stands accused of being the mastermind behind the abduction and assault of a prominent woman actor in February this year.
Following Dileep's arrest, the office premises of Laksyah, Kavya Madhavan's online boutique, was raided towards the end of May. The office is located in Kakkanad and the police had conducted the raid in the hope of recovering the memory card which supposedly contains visuals of the sexual assault on the woman actor.
Pulsar Suni, who was arrested by the police days after the assault on the actor, had reportedly mentioned visiting a shop in Kakkanad. However, the police was unable to recover the memory card.
Suni had referred to a certain 'Madam' several times in connection with the case, stating that she'd given him money but that she did not have a big role to play in the conspiracy. In August, Suni revealed that the 'Madam' he'd been talking about was Kavya Madhavan.
Dileep's fourth bail plea will come up before the Angamaly court on Saturday afternoon.
