After being rejected by all leading fronts, actor M Karthik’s Naadalum Makkal Katchi joined hands with five other such outfits to form a separate alliance, which would contest from 25 seats.

The coalition that is calling itself ‘Vidiyal Alliance’ comprises Moovendar Munnani, Makkal Maanadu Katchi and Tamil Makkal Katchi among others, Karthik told the media here on Friday. “Candidates from this alliance would contest from 25 constituencies during the upcoming Assembly elections,” he added.

The party launched by the former film star was expected to be part of the Congress. When the national party signed a deal with the DMK, Karthik was expecting a seat for his outfit, which, however, did not materialise.

“Despite our long wait, the parties haven’t responded. So we have formed this alliance to show our strength in the upcoming elections,” Karthik said to The New Indian Express.
