Popular Australian band AC/DC on Sunday confirmed that former Guns N’ Roses lead singer Axl Rose will join the band for their ongoing Rock or Bust World Tour.

Axl Rose is set to replace the band’s existing singer Brian Johnson who has been forced to step aside after he was advised to stay off the stage to prevent total hearing loss.

On Sunday, the band issued the following statement:

AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band over the years. As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we support Brian's decision to save his hearing. We are dedicated to fulfilling our touring commitments to all that have supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfil this commitment.

The Independent article said that after the remaining legs of the Rock or Bust World Tour, Axl Rose is set to feature in the Guns N' Roses’ 'Not In This Lifetime' Summer Stadium Tour.

It was reported that Johnson’s close friend Jim Breuer, a comedian, said that the rock star felt "kicked to the kerb" by the band last month.
