Not for this 87 year-old widow in Chennai who was abused and thrown out of her son’s house.Rosemary Angelina (Lilly), who lives in Mylapore was the constant target of abuse from her son and daughter-in-law, said The Times of India. Facing physical and verbal abuse from her family, she was often afraid of being murdered, said the report. A city court has now paid attention to her complaints and ordered her son to leave her “in peace”.Angeline had approached the CM’s cell and the commissioner of police for help when she was not allowed into the house on November 1,2013.Her son and daughter-in-law, Luis and Martha Francais stole her ration card, jewellary, bank receipts and medical records, she said according to the report. When she filed petition, a magistrate court in Saidapet directed the Mylapore police to provide her protection.This is not the only trouble she has faced. She had previously filed a petition for maintenance from her son but a set-aside petition was filed which was pending in court, said the report.
