The Shankar directorial 2.O is creating the right buzz ever since it went on the floors late last year. The film, produced by A Subashkaran’s Lyca Productions, is one of the high budget films ever to be made till now. With the film’s release slotted for early next year, the pre-release business has been going on, creating some new records.
While the satellite and audio rights of 2.O have been sold out already for a huge sum, we hear that the Andhra and Telangana rights have fetched its makers a big amount. Confirming the news through Twitter, Lyca’s Raju Mahalingam posted: “2.0 - SOLD OUT for a Whopping Price !! AP and Telangana !!! Lyca Productions & Global Cinema partnership is a "History in the Making"!!!”
Directed by Shankar, the film stars Rajinikanth in the lead role. While Amy Jackson is paired opposite the Superstar for the first time, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar will be seen playing the antagonist. Incidentally, he is making his debut in the Tamil film industry with 2.O.
AR Rahman is composing music for this film. While he has composed five sound tracks for the album, not all of them would be featured in the movie, say sources. Nirav Shah has cranked the camera for 2.O while Anthony is the editor.
It may be mentioned that the shooting for this science fiction thriller was wrapped up some weeks ago and now it is into the post-production mode. Reports say that the film requires a lot of computer graphics to be included and it would require about six months to be completed. 2.O will hit the silver screens in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi across the globe.
