A 10-year-old boy was on Tuesday allegedly stabbed to death by a man in Kochi.
Police said fifth standard student Christy John was stabbed 17 times allegedly by 40-year-old Aji Devasia, at Pulleppady area.
The incident occurred this morning when the boy was returning home after buying milk from a shop in the neighbourhood.
Though locals took the boy to the hospital, he died there 10 minutes later.
Police have arrested Devasia, said to be mentally challenged.
Police are also investigating whether he is a drug addict.
