The workers said to be part of the NCP’s student wing according to Krishna Prakash, Additional Commissioner of Police (South) did not agree to allow the show to be conducted without Mittal as a part of the show which included other stand-up comics , said the report.
It was not just the comedians facing the heat post the roast.
Even actors, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and director Karan Johar were at the receiving end as The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) demanded an unconditional apology from them, said another report.
General secretary Dilip Pithva also is said to have supported Ashoke Pandite, a censor board member’s view on the roast. Pandite earlier had expressed his feelings against the content expressed in the comedy show.
Pithva even said that the FWICE which heads 22 crafts could be told to stop working with all three actors. He also said that all those part of the film industry belong to the FWICE which meant they would have to comply with decisions made.
