A video of Samantha performing ‘Silambam’ like a pro has gone viral online with several of her fans loving it.

The video also triggered speculations that the actor may be practicing the traditional form of art for her upcoming movie.

The actor can be seen brandishing the Silambam stick effortlessly, which makes it clear that she has been working at it.

However, sources close to Samantha say that she is a fitness freak, and has taken up this form of martial art as part of her workout routine. 

Samantha is currently busy playing the female lead in a Ram Charan Teja starrer, which is being directed by Sukumar. 

She also has Raju Gari Gadhi 2 in which is she plays a ghost. In Kollywood, the actor has paired up with ‘Ilayathalapathy’ Vijay in his upcoming film, directed by Atlee, which hasn’t been titled yet.

Furthermore, the actor has inked the deal to work with award winning director Thyagarajan Kumararajah in his directorial Aneedhi Kadhaigalalong with Vishal starrer Irumbu Thirai.

Samantha has also bagged a role in the prestigious project, Mahanati, which is a biopic on the legendary actor Savitri.

Though there were speculations that Samantha will be playing the legend herself, it has been clarified that she will be seen as a journalist and the film will revolve around her perspective.

On the personal front, Samantha is getting ready for her wedding.

Officially engaged to actor Naga Chaitanya, son of the Tollywood star Nagarjuna, Samantha is expected to walk down the wedding aisle later this year.

Sources say that the wedding is slated to be held in October and the actor will be completing all her acting assignments before that.
