NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope is being used by astronomers to study auroras on the poles of Jupiter – the largest planet in the solar system.

A new video has captured this vivid glow of light on Jupiter in stunning detail.

Auroras are a natural electrical phenomenon in a planet’s atmosphere, usually near the poles and are characterized by bright streaks of light in the sky. The brilliant effect is caused by the interaction of charged particles from the sun with atoms in the planet’s upper atmosphere.

Jupiter is famous for its colourful storms, especially the Great Red Spot.

Here is the video.
