Actor Mohanlal keeps up with the times like few of his younger counterparts do. Not content with merely broadcasting his views on the world online, Lalettan has now entered the merchandising space too.
For every fan who’d like a piece of Mohanlal memorabilia, the newly launched Lal Store on the actor’s official website has a modest, if exciting collection of goodies to offer. There are books on Mohanlal as well as T-shirts autographed by the actor himself.
The most exciting part of the store, however, is the auction section, where fans can bid for rare movie props from Mohanlal’s films as well as items from his personal collection. The first piece of memorabilia that went on auction on the site is an animal tooth necklace worn by Mohanlal in his latest record-breaking hit Pulimurugan.
For those who came in late, Pulimurugan, Mohanlal’s 2016 magnum opus, became Malayalam cinema’s first Rs 100-crore film, and has solidly entrenched the actor’s reputation as the leading superstar of the industry.
But relax, it’s all for a good cause. All proceeds raised by the store will be donated entirely to charity, according to the website. The store has been created, it claims, to raise funds for the various charity initiatives of The Complete Actor (TCA).
