Around 7 30 am on Thursday, a 38-year-old woman residing in Doddanekundi in east Bengaluru got the horror of her life when she opened the door to find her former colleague armed with a knife.

Ameeth Kumar Kudignur, a native of Vijayapura in Karnataka and a techie, had previously worked with the woman in a company in Bengaluru and had been harassing her for the past two years, reports Santoshkumar B for The Times of India

Ameeth had been harassing the woman for the past two years, forcing her to marry him, despite knowing that she was married and had a 14-year-old daughter.

On Thursday, Ameeth, who currently works in Chennai, showed up at the woman's house in Bengaluru, after the woman failed to respond for several of his threat messages.

According to TOI, the woman, who hails from Kerala, put up a fight and Ameeth fled the scene, when his knife fell on the floor.

Continued harassment

Ameeth had constantly been harassing the woman over the past two years, she has alleged. He had been sending her messages and emails, and the woman had lodged a complaint with Whitefield police in 2016.

Ameeth was subsequently arrested and after he got bail, he relocated to Chennai. However, his messages and emails never stopped, states the newspaper report.

The police arrested Ameeth and he was remanded in judicial custody.
