If you thought Samsung would be relaxing after its flagship Galaxy S8, think again. The South Korean tech giant just launched a new mid-segment or budget phone the Samsung Galaxy Feel in Japan and the phone is currently available on pre-order with even the price not mentioned.

The phone comes with a 4.7-Inch Super AMOLED Display and the phone’s overall dimensions are 138x67x8.3mm and its weight is 149gms. There is one interpretation that Samsung wanted to make a phone with sizes good enough to be held in one hand and used, perhaps like the good old times. Maybe this could have been the reason Samsung is trying out the Japanese market first.

In terms of the physical design, the back panel of the phone appears to be of glass and metal edges have been provided as protection. The physical button for powering the device on is on the right side and the volume adjustment button on the left. There is a physical home button and there is a fingerprint sensor located below it. The Samsung Galaxy Feel is being released in three colors, Black, White and Pink.

The display resolution is 720x1280p. The phone will have an octa-core processor that yields a clock speed of 1.6GHz and the RAM would be 3GB. Internal memory space of 32GB is available. The OS is the Android 7.0 Nougat.

With regard to the cameras, the main rear sensor is 16MP and the front one for selfies is 5MP. The phone has all the connectivity options, including 4G VoLTE. Samsung has obtained the dust and water resistance certification, IP6X, for its new offering.

As indicated, the battery is 3000mAh and the company claims it can provide a standby time of 170 hours, which is quite good. Quick charging feature is also provided.

Again, as mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy Feel is being made available to the customers in Japan from June 15. There is no clarity yet on when and if the phone will be launched in the other markets as well.
