Debut director Desingh Periyasamy is all set to wield the megaphone for a Dulquer Salmaan starrer. The director, on working with the talented actor, has been quoted by the Times of India as saying, “It's a romantic film, which also has a few elements of a thriller. Dulquer plays a youngster named Sidharth, and his friends call him Sid. He is quite cool, composed and stable as a person. The movie will also have some stylish heroic elements, unlike his previous Tamil films.”

Ritu Varma of Pelli Choopulu fame, has been signed up to play the female lead in this flick. The actor is currently busy playing Vikram’s lead pair in the upcoming Gautham Menon directorial Dhruva Natchathiram. It may be mentioned here that Ritu Varma was seen in a brief role in the recently released Dhanush starrer VIP 2, which was directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth.

Ritu Varma had made her debut with the 2013 release Baadshah. Dulquer, on the other hand, has a number of films in his kitty. And it is not just Malayalam and Tamil movies but Hindi and Telugu as well. The star is busy with the Malayalam film Parava and the Hindi flick Karwaan. He also has the multilingual Mahanati, which will be released in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam and the bilingual Solo which will be out in Malayalam as well as Telugu.

Apart from these project, Dulquer Salmaan has inked deals to star in Oru Bhayankara Kamukan and Sukumara Kurup which will be directed by Lal Jose and Srinath Rajendran respectively. With the award winning short filmmaker Desginh Periyasamy wielding the megaphone for the first time for the feature film, expectations on the Dulquer Salmaan – Ritu Varma starrer are skyrocketing. More details about the film including the title will be announced very soon, we hear.
