One of the most anticipated films in the Telugu film industry went on to the floors recently.

Yes, the Nagarjuna – Ram Gopal Varma project has begun with the official launch happening in Hyderabad. The first scene in the film was canned during this event, which tells us that it is an intense cop thriller. And predictably, Nagarjuna will be seen playing a serious police officer in the movie.

The first scene that was shot on day one and had the lead star mouthing the dialogue, "Irrespective of whether you answer my question, it is guaranteed that I’m going to kill you. The faster you answer, the faster you die. Will you die with less pain or more pain?”

This dialogue gives a picture of what the film is all about.

Nagarjuna, one of the most bankable stars in the Telugu film industry, first teamed up with Ram Gopal Varma for the 1989 hit movie Siva.

The film went on to win several awards including Nandi Award for Best Director, Nandi Award for Best First Film of a Director, Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu and International Film Festival of India award.

The film was remade in Hindi under the same title with Nagarjuna making his Bollywood debut. They then went on to work together in Antham which released in 1992. And now, after 25 years, Ram Gopal Varma and Nagarjuna are coming back together and this certainly has the movie buffs excited.

It may be mentioned here that RGV, known be one of the most controversial directors in Indian cinema, had declared that he would be making a biopic on the late actor and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao, from the viewpoint of his second wife Lakshmi Parvathi.

However, the project now seems to have been put on hold with the director opting for Nagarjuna’s film.
