Sharath Marrar, who has produced only Pawan Kalyan's films so far, has acquired the Telugu rights of highly anticipated film Vijay's upcoming film Mersal under his North Star Entertainments banner.

Though he has tasted success with Gopala Gopala, Sharat Marar's two recent movies Sardar Gabbar Singh and Katamarayudu were disasters at the box-office.

The dubbed film is titled Adirindhi in Telugu, and is expected to release on the eve of Diwali festival, simultaneously with the Tamil version.

The film is a period thriller with story by the Baahubali fame KV Vijayendra Prasad. Atlee, who had directed Vijay in Theri a couple of years ago, is donning the director’s robes for this flick.

While Vijay plays the main protagonist, it has Kajal Agarwal and Samantha as his heroines.The film stars actor-filmmaker S.J Suryah as an antagonist, apart from Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in key roles.

The Oscar winning music director, AR Rahman is wielding the music baton for this flick with Ruben as its editor and GK Vishnu as its cinematographer. 

With the first look poster showing Vijay in the backdrop of Jallikattu going viral online, fans just can’t wait to see the movie. 

Made on a budget of Rs. 150 crore, the magnum opus is produced under the banner Thenandal Studio Limited by N Ramasamy, Hema Rukmani.

The makers had recently confirmed that the film will hit the screens worldwide in October, most likely for Diwali, as Rajinikanth’s 2.o has already backed out of the race.
