Amid speculations that Rajinikanth would make an announcement about his plunge into politics, the superstar made it clear that he has no such plans. Rajinikanth on Wednesday said that he is in no hurry to start working in the field and will be meeting his fans after his birthday.

Asked when he is planning to get into the field and work, Rajinikanth told media at the airport, “No urgency to start working on the field.”

He also stated that he will be meeting his fans after his birthday which is on December 12, 2017.

This comes days after Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath said that his party welcomes Rajinikanth and he will put an end to Dravidian politics.

"Rajinikanth is very popular amongst the people. He is also a spiritual person and a nationalist, so we welcome his entry into politics. We believe he can put an end to this Dravidian politics," said Arjun Sampath.

But he had earlier said, ”Kamal Haasan however is against Hindus, an atheist and identifies himself as a communist. We cannot support him.”

In August, Rajinikanth’s close friend and politician Tamilaruvi Manian of the Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam had stated that the actor’s entry into politics will be ‘very soon’.

Rajinikanth is currently busy with the release of the movie 2.0. He said that the release date of the movie will be announced soon.

The film, which is in the post production mode, is being directed by Shankar and is touted to be one of the costliest films ever to be made in Indian cinema.

It is produced by A Subhaskaran’s Lyca Prodcutions on a budget of Rs. 450 crores.

He also added that the shooting for the movie Kaala is over.

Kaala is directed by Pa Ranjith and the project marks the reunion of director Pa. Ranjith with Rajinikanth after Kabali.
