Nayanthara, one of Tamil cinema’s most successful heroines among the contemporary lot, is going through the best phase of her career. With three back-to-back blockbusters, she’s being considered the lady superstar, given her popularity among the masses.

Currently busy, juggling between the sets of her Telugu film Babu Bangaram and yet-untitled Tamil thriller, Nayanthara has green-lit a new Tamil project, which she plans to produce. The film will be directed by debutant Jagan, former assistant of filmmaker A.R Murugadoss, and it’s slated to go on the floors later this year.

Nayanthara, for the first time in her career, will be seen in the role of a collector and she will undergo a makeover to get into skin of her character. With the pre-production work already underway, Nayanthara has put together a team to look after the casting process.

The project was offered to her sometime last year and back then she wasn’t sure if she was ready for a full-length woman-centric film. However, following the phenomenal success of Thani Oruvan, Maya and Naanum Rowdydhaan, she’s willing to experiment and take the risk.
