The makers of the Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 have mega plans for its promos. As a part of the promos, a 100-feet tall hot air balloon with the images of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar will be flown down to countries such as Dubai, the UK and Australia, we hear.
Raju Mahalingam, the creative head of Lyca Productions, confirmed this through an interview to the IANS. He had said, “We plan to take the 100-foot-tall hot-air balloon to as many balloon festivals as possible across the world. Since we see our film as a Hollywood production, we also plan to tie up the balloon over the Hollywood signage in Los Angeles.”
Adding further, he said that the balloon will be taken to several cities in India as well and top stars will be participating in the promotional drive. On June 27 at 7am, the balloon will be in the Hollywood Hills at Lake Hollywood Park and on June 28, between 5:30am and 6am at Lancaster, California.
As it’s made on a budget of Rs. 400 crore, the producers of the film are leaving no stone unturned where the promos are concerned. 2.0 is directed by S Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions’ A Subashkaran. The magnum opus has the Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman composing the tunes with Nirav Shah cranking the camera.
2.0 has a huge star cast with Rajinikanth playing the main protagonist and Amy Jackson as his heroine. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar will be seen locking horns with Rajinikanth. The shooting of this film is over and it is currently in the post-production stage. Reports say that the VFX for the film will consume nearly six months of the production time due to which the release has been fixed for January 25, 2018.
The prequel to 2.0, Endhiran was released in 2010. The film, which was a massive hit, had Rajinikanth in the lead with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as his leading lady. Shankar had directed Endhiran as well.
