The makers of the Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 have announced big plans! It is already known that the film’s shooting has been wrapped up and it is now into the post-production mode. While the team is working on the VFX, which will require about six months to be completed, fans are eagerly awaiting its release in January next year.

Meanwhile, the producers of the film, Lyca Productions, have revealed that the film would be released not only in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi but also in Spanish, Chinese and Korean languages. Directed by S Shankar, 2.0 stars Rajinikanth in the lead role. Touted to be a sequel to 2010 smash hit Enthiran, the film has Amy Jackson playing the heroine and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar as the villain. The supporting cast includes Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain, Kalabhavan Shajohn and Riyaz Khan.

The filmmakers revealed during a recent interaction with the press that 2.0 will be released in over 1,000 screens across the globe. Well, that’s really huge indeed! The team has a mega plan for the audio launch too. According to the producers, a grand audio launch event is scheduled to happen in Dubai this October. The date of this event will be disclosed very soon, we hear.

Made on a budget of Rs. 450 crore, 2.0 is touted to be one of the most expensive films to be made in India. The film’s technical crew comprises AR Rahman for music, Nirav Shah for cinematography and Anthony for editing. Reports are that the film’s soundtrack will comprise five songs but only one of it would feature in the movie. With massive plans on the cards to promote this science fiction thriller, fans just can’t wait for it to arrive at the theatres on January 25, 2018.
