It is well known that Manchu Manoj’s father Mohan Babu shares a good rapport with ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth.

In fact, their friendship dates back to several years. Probably this friendship had paved way for Manchu Manoj to consider titling the dubbed Tamil version of his upcoming film Okkadu Migaladu as Naan Thirumba Varuven, a popular dialogue from Rajini’s Kabali.

While releasing the first look of Naan Thirumba Varuven, Manchu Manoj was quoted as saying, “Fighting for rights can turn a common man into a warrior. An untold story of one man who stood for Tamilians.”

Touted to be inspired by a popular LTTE leader, the film will have Manchu Manoj sporting two different looks.

With the first look out, expectations are high for the film’s teaser.

Directed by Ajay Andrews Nuthakki, Okkadu Migaladu has Manchu Manoj playing the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) chief Velupillai Prabhakaran.

The actor has done a lot of homework to get into the skin of the character, say sources.

According to the reports, Manchu Manoj put on about 15kg of weight to get the characterization right. Apart from playing the LTTE chief, he will also be seen playing a student leader.

Manchu Manoj plays the lead role in the film with Anisha Ambrose as his female lead. Others in the star cast include Jenifer, Milind Gunaji and Suhasini Mani Ratnam.

While Ajay Andrews Nuthakki is directing the movie, Gopi Mohan has penned the screenplay. The technical crew of the film includes Siva Nandigama as the music director, VK Ramaraja as the cinematographer and Karthi Sreenivas as the editor.

The film is bankrolled by Laxmikanth and SN Reddy. Reports are that Okkadu Migaladu will hit the screens on September 8.
