Lokesh Kanagaraj made a splash with Maanagaram, a thriller set in Chennai, which released earlier this year and won over audiences and critics alike. With glowing reviews and highly positive word-of-mouth publicity, the film managed to succeed at the box-office. Even before the film could complete its theatrical run, Lokesh was committed to do another film for Dream Warrior Pictures, the makers of Maanagaram. The latest buzz is that he will team up with Karthi next and the project is said to be a supernatural thriller.
Lokesh, however, has denied signing any actor for his next project and also clarified that he is yet to pitch his script to Karthi. Confirming that his next project will be under the production of Dream Warrior Pictures, he said, “The lead cast isn’t finalised yet. It will take another month.”
Karthi, meanwhile, is busy wrapping up the shoot of his action-based cop thriller Dheeran: Adhigaaram Ondru, being directed by Sathuranga Vettai fame Vinoth Kumar.
Karthi also has a project with director Pandiraj next in his brother Suriya’s production. At the audio launch of Magalir Mattum, it was announced that Karthi’s new film with Pandiraj will roll from August. It will be interesting to see whether Karthi will work with Lokesh or Pandiraj next and an official announcement can be expected soon.
