Director Shankar and the Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan are teaming up for the sequel of Bharateeyudu / Indian, which was a blockbuster hit. Apparently, the groundwork for the project has begun already with Kamal Haasan training hard to get the required physique. Sources say that a physical exercise trainer has been flown down from the US to work on Kamal’s look and he will also undergo a special diet regimen. While there have been rumours that Bharateeyudu 2 / Indian 2 has been put on the backburner due to financial issues, it is learnt through sources that there is no truth in it.

The film is bankrolled by one of the most successful producers in the Telugu film industry, Dil Raju, under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. It may be mentioned that director Shankar is currently busy with the post-production of the magnum opus 2.0, which is the sequel to Endhiran / Robot. The film, produced by Lyca Productions, is made on a budget of Rs. 450 crores.

On the other hand, Kamal Haasan’s fans are waiting eagerly for Vishwaroopam 2 and Sabash Naidu. Vishwaroopam 2 has reached the post-production stage but its release date remains uncertain as of now, while Sabaash Naidu is said to be not progressing due to financial issues. It is worth noting that Kamal had to face several problems right from the time Sabaash Naidu went on the floors in the US last year.

Initially, the film was to have been directed by TK Rajeev Kumar but he fell sick within a couple of days the film went on to the floors and Kamal had to take over the reins. Later, Kamal suffered a fracture which had him bedridden for a couple of months. And then, a personal tragedy hit the star with his sister-in-law and later his brother passing away.
