Uttar Pradesh’s new Chief Minister is making news in Karnataka, as morphed pictures, portraying Yogi Adityanath with a woman, surfaced on social media on Monday. Now, a BJP MP from Karnataka has filed a case against a social activist for allegedly posting these pictures.

The suggestive pictures triggered the ire of Kodagu MP and BJP Yuva Morcha President, Pratap Simha, who filed a complaint at Ulsoor Police Station against Prabha Belavangala, accusing her of defamation. The social activist has now been booked under the Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and Sections 153A, 292A, 499, 500 and 505 of the Indian Penal Code.

“Ms Prabha Belavangala has posted obscene, morphed and tampered images purported to be the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Sri Yogi Adityanat. These obscene images depict the Hon’ble Chief Minister in a very poor light and is highly defamatory in nature,” the BJP Yuva Morcha’s complaint reads.

The complaint claims that Prabha Belavangala “acted knowing fully well that it will cause breach of public peace”, as her post portrayed Yogi Adityanath, who is “a popular leader” in poor light.

“Prabha Belavangala is a habitual mischief and rumour monger and has also tried to create disharmony in society by publishing inflammatory content on Facebook earlier in August 2014. FIR's have been lodged against her earlier as well for similar offences, when she had posted the video of a seer intimate with a sanyasini, which she doctored with Yogi Adityanath’s face. This is a derogatory video posted by her,” Pratap Simha said.

The Kodagu MP came down heavily on the social activist and even said that Prabha Belavangala said that the BJP Yuva Morcha would meet the DGP if action is not taken against her.

“If she has an urge to watch porn, she does not have to go till Uttar Pradesh. She could just make her way to HY Meti’s office in Bagalkot and there watch it live with naked characters. Only people who have watched porn could do this,” Pratap Simha said.

A delegation by MP Prathap Simha and Jayanagar MLA B N Vijaykumar also met the city police commissioner Praveen Sood. Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) S Ravi told reporters that a criminal case has been filed against Prabha, based on the complaint received.

Taking to Twitter, Arvind Limbavali, MLA Mahadevapura Constituency called Prabha's Facebook post "obnoxious & mischievous." He added that the party will "not tolerate nonsense" and will move legally against Prabha.
