There has always been much curiousity over how much money actors make for films. Even in Telugu actor Jr NTR's case, there have been many questions on how much he rakes in, for hosting shows like Bigg Boss Telugu.

A report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) that was tabled in Parliament earlier this week, has revealed that the actor received Rs 7.33 crore for his film Nannaku Prematho

The report stated that the actor claimed exemption from payment of service tax of Rs 1.10 crore in 2016, for an amount of Rs 7.33 crore, that he received as remuneration for acting in the film, claiming that it was an 'export of services', The New Indian Express reported.

Faced with allegations of non-payment of service tax for his film, Jr NTR on Saturday issued a statement to the media that he had not received a notice from authorities on the matter, and would pay up every single penny.

“I have acted in 'Nannaku Prematho' film in 2015 which was made in the UK by the producer. I was advised by legal and tax experts that any Service (in this case as an actor) rendered outside India for which payment is received in Foreign Exchange, is not taxable for Service tax in India. Accordingly, I have not collected the service tax from the producer of Nannaku Prematho,” the statement reads.

The CAG also said that a show-cause notice was also being issued for Rs 1.10 crore, against the actor.

"After sending that written reply in 2016, till date, we have not received any further communication regarding this matter, like a show-cause notice or demand, from the authorities. In 2016, when CAG officials conducted a review of my Service Tax returns and raised a query, my legal and economic team gave an explanation in writing about the same," the statement by Jr NTR added.

Claiming that he was a law abiding citizen and a faithful tax payer, the actor added, "In the present matter, if it is found by the competent authority that I have to pay the service tax, I will pay every single penny as required.''

The star is presently hosting season one of Bigg Boss – Telugu, which is a huge hit among audiences.

With regard to his acting career, he is working on Jai Lava Kusa.

Directed by KS Ravindra, the film is produced by Kalyan Ram under his banner NTR Arts.
