Jayam Ravi has tried out something out-of-the-box in Vanamagam. The actor, according to reports, is playing the role of a caveman and has no dialogues in the film. How this caveman falls in love with the heroine and arrives in the city and finds it difficult to adapt to the new lifestyle forms the crux of the film. Though he arrives in the city, Jayam Ravi will have no constructive dialogues and will communicate mostly through sounds and gestures.

Directed by Vijay of Madarasapattinam and Deiva Thirumagal fame, Vanamagan is touted to be a very different film in Jayam Ravi’s career. Sayeesha Saigai will be making her debut in Tamil with the movie. Sources close to the Vanamagan film unit say that the director has tried out something novel in the film which will be its highlight. Harris Jayaraj has composed music for Vanamagan. Thiru has wielded the camera and Anthony has edited the film. The star cast of the film includes Varun, Thambi Ramaiah, Prakash Raj, Sanjay Bharathi and Ramya Subramanian.

Bankrolled by AL Thenappan, father of director AL Vijay, the film is expected to hit the silver screens in July this year. Vanamagan, being a film based on a caveman, has been shot extensively in the forests in Andaman, say sources.

Jayam Ravi and director Vijay hope that this experiment pays off well at the box office. There have been films with very few or no dialogues in the Tamil film industry and notable among them is the Kamal Haasan and Amala starrer Pesum Padam in which the stars did not have any dialogues. However, Vanamagan will be different with only the hero not having any dialogues to deliver while the rest of the cast does.
